California and Katy Perry

I recently saw the music video to the hit song, "California Girlz" and i guess i shouldn't have had preconceptions about the music video as California has a varied climate and geography. Aside from the beach, there's mountains on the east, deserts southwest, forests up north and a valley in the middle; however, from the song and the lyrics, it just seems logical that it would take place in a beach setting.

Regardless, California is not Candyland (as Katy Perry portrayed it as). The last time I checked, no one was wearing cupcake bras and candycane underwear or chilling naked in the clouds. What was Katy Perry thinking when she agreed to use this as a theme to the music video. goodness. there must have been something in the water.
